Running for My Life One Lost Boy's Journey from the Killing Fields of Sudan to the Olympic Games By Lopez Lomong, with Mark Tabb This is an autobiography by Lopez Lomong telling his life story from being stolen at a young ago right from his church with his family, he was thrown into a whole new life of war and child soldiers. This was a very insperational book it tells a story of hope and believing in yourself and putting your life in gods hands. Lopez lived a very lucky life and he was grateful through everything that happened and he got a chance very few lost boys get. This story tells his journey from the refugee camp, to America, to a live in the spotlight living out his dream of being in the olyimpics and getting his education which he would of never been able to expericence staying in his poor community. This would be a good book for people who need insperation in their life or just want to read a really great book about a lucky guy who worked hard and had some great breaks in life.

Book Review: Momaholic

I just finnished the book Momaholic by Dena Higley, this is a true story of her life told by her. Dena is a mother of four and has a very important job as a writer for Days Of Our Lives, she is a self proclaimed helicopter mom. I am always interested in learning about everyones lifestyle she had a very hecktic one trying to control everyone and everything in her life and stressing herself out to the max. She had two children of her own and adopted two. One of her children has autisum and another she adopted had a missing leg, all leading to more stress and worrying in her life. When her oldest daughter who she has so many plans for her comes home from college and says shes pregant and wants to get married Dena is pushed over the edge and lands herself in the E.R. I would recommend this to overprotective mothers and even soon to be mothers, I don't have children yet but plan to someday and this teaches you some good tips for parenting and some "what not to do" in parenting overall a pretty good read.

Book Review - This Thing Of Ours by: Cammy Franzese

This book was very easy to get into, the way she tells her story you can really get a feel of right where shes coming from. This tells her story of how she met the man she soon married and found out he wasn't the man she thought. Her husband Michael picked her out from a lot of other girls who were always drooling over him, on a movie set. She dated him a while and they were soon married but not long after he was sent to jail, she tells her story about the hard times she went through. She didn't know it but Michael was connected with the mob and was in a lot of trouble. She works through a lot of the problems that would arise from such a thing this is a good inspirational book. This book shows you to work for your marriage because its what you decided to do and there is always help. I recommend this for someone who is married it will make you appreciate what you have.

Book Review: The Encounter

This book tells the story of a wealthy bussiness man who has it all, you may think but he has an unresolved bitterness. His mother left him when he was four years old and it has ate at him ever since that day. It caused him to push everyone away in his life with his anger issues and he finally had enough and confided in his priest at church to help him. This story tells his journey back to his home land of Alaska from sunny Miami to find his mother and find the truth. He learns a lot on his trip from the help of a new friend in an unlikely place. This book was very well written and is from the heart you can feel the connection to the book and always feel for the characters it was loosely based on two stories and its quite a great read. p.s not a very long book.

Book review: Love You More by Jennifer Grant

Jennifer tells her indept story of the adoption of her guatamalen daughter. This was a very good surprise of a book I was impressed. She is a very talented writer and the way she decribes things are great. She starts from her younger age and tells the story of each of her kids and you can tell how much she loves being a mother. This book would almost make anyone want to be a parent when she talks about all the joys of parenthood. Deffinaly a good read for someone looking to adopt I wish everyone thinking about this would read Love You More it tells the pros and cons and it might not be for everyone. I admire her way to write a lot and draw you in, at the beginning I wasn't sure about the book but by the end I felt like I knew her and her family.

Book Review: Who Is My Shelter?

I reviewed Who Is My Shelter? by Neta Jackson. I wasn't sure about this book at first it was a slow beginning and hard to follow if you havn't read her other books. But after a while you get into the main characters story Gabby. It tells of her struggles in being married and kicked out of her own house and ending up in a homeless shelter. She starts a program to help other mothers in with the same problems in life called the house of hope giving them a place of their own to get back on their feet. Her husband has a gambling problem and is all bussiness they fall apart and seems like there is no hope for them. There are a lot of characters in the book you get to know them and they do a lot of praying to help get through their all the difficulties they have. Over all it was a good book the end is great one of those books where everything comes together good for the older readers.

Book Review: Invasion

This was a surprising book in many ways, I started reading it and wasnt sure if I would like it at all. This book was wrote by J.S. Lewis a comic book writer its the story of a boy Colt who has a dramatic change in his life for the worse. This is a very good book for young readers especially boys, but I also enjoyed it. You start to feel a connection with the main character and feel like you know him and how he feels. The things that happen in this book are things you can only imagine in your wildest dreams. I don't want to spoil the book so I won't go into detail but for someone like me who doesn't like war and sci fi it was still a very good read tell the story of love, strength, and a will to fight for whats right. Over all a good book and a lot of people can get into this kind of book relating in someway.

Book Review: Uncle Sam's Plantation

This book was wrote by Star Parker a person who was once involved in the life style she talks about which revolves around the government and how it is making the life of poor people worse. This book was very well researched, it is all sectioned out for easy reading if it interests you enough. She goes into subjects you wouldnt hink would be bad like welfare how it is slowly enabling more people every year. Its causing people to be lazy and feel they don't need work to live they can live off the government. The best part of this book were the stories of real live people she knows and how they are living now or how she has changed their lives for the better. It was a lot to read especialy if goverment terms and lots of talking about one thing bores you this book took a long time to get through I would recommend it to people wanting change in life or just to learn what is happening around you.

Book Review

Let's Do Lunch:
This book was wrote by a man who lost a large amount of weight and he tells his story along with the life changing diet he has created. This seems like a good way to lose weight but its not for anyone, like me I havent tryed this diet and probably wont just because it resricts my favorite foods and it is a lot of eating the same things. Roger has really thought all of this through and this plan seems quite healthy and could be a fast easy way for anyone to drop unwanted weight. I would recommend it to yo yo dieters it seems like a good fix if its all the foods you like.

Book Review: Same Kind Of Different As Me

When I started reading this book I was getting confused it was good but it seemed to jump around a lot. Then I realised it was two men telling their story every other chapter. Its a story of Ron Hall and Denver Moore two completly differnt men brought together by Ron's wife it is one of my favorite books I have read in a while. The book is made even better by it being a true story, it makes things seem even more amazing. I had to keep reminding myself all of this really did happen, Denver being a poor black man living on the streets, and Ron being wealthy and only meeting him by volunteering at a soup kitchen with his wife. Very good book over all it made me think about a lot.

A Summer Secret

This book is about an amish girl named Mary Beth, she has four brothers and never gets to have alone time. She sneaks away to an abandoned barn and writes in her journal until she realises there is someone else staying there. Mary Beth and her brother Johnny find the boy living there named Sawyer and he tells them of his rough life. They find a way to help the boy, their parents find out and they find a home for him. This could be a good book for pre-teens maybe it was quite predictable from the beginning you could guess the story but it was a good read.

I reviewed the book: I Am Hutterite

This book was great! It starts right from the very first telling about the Hutterite culture, and telling her own life story from the beginning starting with her mother as a child. It may seem hard to follow learning all the names of people she talks about in her book but soon it feels like you are right in the book. I like the fact its a true story so you can feel for the people in the story all the more. Mary-Ann paints a beautiful picture of her life in Fairholme Colony and the life when she leaves, the struggle and the success.

Will the World End in 2012?

I expected this book to be a bunch of boring facts but the author kept it interesting and I really enjoyed it. The stories at the first of each chapter really keep you interested and helps you understand each part of the theories from the beginning. Anyone wondering about the world ending should read this it explains all the ways predicted without telling you what will happen it lets you decide.

Today and tomorrow are review for exams which I don't have to do so its pretty boring at least I get all next week I don't have to go to school Yay. I can't belive it todays is the first day this year I fell thats pretty good for me I gotta say my drive way is all ice so it would of happend sooner or later lol. No news as usual nothing really goes on around here these days but I did watch the plays in drama yesterday and the ones I did see were they were done good and funny.

Hmm it was snowing today I thought it might of been a snow day but it stopped so that sucked everytime we have snow its always on the last day of school or the weekend we better get at least one day off this winter. I just relized how many movies we got around Christmas like all the new releases Talladega Nights was deffinatly the best one tho ...

Hey everyone well its been awhile since I've wrote anything on here so here it goes Christmas was good I got everything I wanted yay umm New Years I just sat around rented some movies and got some pizza yup thats how I spent most of my two weeks off from school being lazy and watching two seasons of Laguna Beach that I got for Christmas right untill they were finnished so that took up quite a bit of time .

Well im here at home bored so I decided to write on this thing christmas is only like 26 days away can't wait plus the fact we have no school just makes it better:) Lemme see I passed all my classes this term which rules so now I'm even closer to getting to getting my keyboard which will probaly go away like my gutairs I got lol but anyways I'm gonna go find somthing to do perhaps I will go ...practice guitair :-o!

Hey people well not much news oh but today is Shannons 17th birthday its awsome i wanna go get my licence soon i can't wait to drive so bad :)

Wow another rainy day I hate rain but other then that its rules ya I feel lazy today and I've been in the computer room every class so far oh its like so much fun ya know ....No school Monday yay! days off are my favorite part of school well nothing really exciting has happend like when does anything happen around here so ya.

Halloween! well its not that exciting but tonight should be fun going around town with a bunch of people maybe put a mask on and go get some free candy you never know...haven't wrote in a while maybe it would help if i wasn't sick all the time i hate catching up on school work ugh but ya today they should have some stuff planed for at lunch time like the other years but i haven't heard anything everyones talking about they're plans tonight my only goal is to not get hit with eggs like we almost did last year well it was fun tho lol
Oh somthing that happend on Sunday night the power went out as soon as my favorite show came on and then when the show was over of corse the powercame back on that was so not cool! :(

Well last night i was just about to write a blog entry but then a bunch of people showed up Alicia ,Crystal ,Garth, Chris,and Mom where all here and it was a full moon last night so we went for a walk saw a raccon then had a little run in with a skunk but thats another story so we stayed in the rest of the night and watched Posiden and I relized Desperate Housewives was on i just had to watch it i never missed an episode but ya then we all went to bed around 3 or somthing it was pretty fun oh oh tomorrow is my birthday sweet 16! finnaly....

Oh ya my birthday i almost forgot thanks Jess your comment just reminded me my count down is usually done be daphnee thats cool though having the same days for our b-days ...thats a new one but ya only 5 days i can't wait i want to drive and get my tattoo!it will be awsome..i think if i don't fail which is not too certain at the moment.

Hey ya Im bored Im in the computer lab thing and everyone is arguing and stuff and and and i don't know but i deleted a picture and now i have to fill the place where it was so i am with by randomly bableing on.

I am really bad at these blog thingys I wonder who thought of the word blog...hmmm anyways ya Im not going to the dance they are usually boring so i won't bother sometimes theres the odd fight and stuff but other than that I usually sit there and get blinded by the bright lights.

Well school is pretty different this year oceans is probaly gonna be the best class I've had cause its really easy all we do is watch movies and write some questions but I am deffinatly changing classes from Math ...wow I am really bad at it i think i need the ...other people math and if u haven't noticed i like to do this...a lot.
